1909 E90-1 American Caramel Collection (22)
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $6,380.00
Collection of twenty-two different E90-1 American Caramel cards including eleven Hall of Famers, highlighted by Ty Cobb and Christy Mathewson. Seven cards are in Vg-Ex condition, eleven are Vg, and four are slightly lesser. The E90-1 set is the most widely collected of all 1910-era caramel issues. We have selected three cards to be graded by PSA. Highlights: Chance (Vg-Ex), Clarke - Phila. (PSA VG-EX 4), Cobb (Gd), Crawford (Vg-Ex), Jennings (PSA VG-EX 4 [MK]), Joss - port. (Vg-Ex), Mathewson (PSA VG 3), Plank (Vg-Ex), Tinker (Gd-Vg), Wallace (Vg), and Young (Vg). The balance of the cards are commons (Vg to Vg-Ex). This collection has a particularly high concentration of key Hall of Famers and represents a very substantial start to collecting one of the era's most difficult-to-complete sets. Overall very consistent and reasonably uniform in grade throughout, with many cards having far superior eye-appeal than their technically accurate grades. Also included is an E92 Dockman & Sons sample card of Philadelphia Athletics' outfielder Danny Murphy (Vg-Ex). Total 23 cards (22 E90-1 cards and one E92 Dockman). Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $6,380.00
