Circa 1968 Jimi Hendrix Experience Signed Postcard
Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $2,320.00
German postcard signed on the reverse in blue ink ("9/10") by Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding, and Mitch Mitchell (signed "Mitch," as was his customary practice). Together, these three individuals comprised the legendary Jimi Hendrix Experience. Formed by Hendrix in the mid 1960s, the group quickly rose to prominence in London and in 1967 released their hit single "Hey Joe." That same year marked the debut of their first album, the now classic Are You Experienced. Despite their strong following overseas, the group did not become a sensation in the United States until the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, where Hendrix overwhelmed the crowd with his rendition of "Wild Thing." Although the group's rise was meteoric, it was also brief, as Hendrix disbanded the group in 1969 and passed away one year later. The postcard is unused and has been slightly trimmed along one side (apparent from preprinted type of postcard address side) to its current dimensions (5 x 4 inches), and very light remnants of glue on the reverse from being saved in an album and carefully removed, otherwise in Excellent to Mint condition. LOA from Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $2,320.00
