Circa 1910 Tobacco Advertising Displays (4)

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $3,190.00

In the old days, tobacco manufacturers created many different types of impressive advertising displays to compete for wall space in tobacco shops. Presented is a collection of four impressive tobacco advertising displays dating from the 1910 to 1920 era. These original store displays are very substantial and highly prized by advertising collectors. This is a particularly interesting group for advertising as well as baseball collectors, as each of the four brands advertised also has a direct connection to a brand-associated popular baseball set of the era. 1) Mecca Cigarettes (1911 T201 Mecca Double Folders): 19.5 x 36.75 inches, printed on thick cardboard stock, Earl Christy illustration, housed in its original wood frame (lettered "Mecca Cigarettes" along the top).
