1889 N29 & N43 Allen & Ginter Wm. Ewing (2)
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,740.00
Two Buck Ewing cards, one N29 Allen & Ginter and one N43 Allen & Ginter, both encapsulated and graded by SGC. 1) 1889 N29 Allen & Ginter Wm. Ewing (SGC FAIR 20): "World's Champions" second series. The front of the card is a bright, clean, very sharp Ex-Mt. The card has been downgraded due to a few tiny scattered areas of paper loss to the reverse and some very light staining along the right side on the reverse which in no way affects the ability to read any of the text on the back. A light stain can also be seen in the upper left corner of the front. 2) 1889 N43 Allen & Ginter Wm. Ewing (SGC POOR 10): Hall of Famer Buck Ewing from the rarer large-size N43 Allen & Ginter "World's Champions" series. The N43 set features the same subjects as N29 but with additional background artwork. Ewing is also the key card from this set. The front of this card is in Excellent condition. It is bright, fresh, and clean, with vibrant colors, perfect registry, and with only the slightest hint of wear to the four square corners. The reverse has a glue stain and small areas of surface paper loss from long ago being mounted in an album and later removed. This is a very attractive technically low-grade matched-pair of these key pre-1900 rarities. Total 2 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $1,740.00
