1967 Bob Shaw/Bill Graham NY Mets Game-Used Home Flannel Jersey
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $4,930.00
New York Mets home flannel jersey dating from the 1967 season. The white pinstripe jersey is lettered "Mets" across the chest and features the number "26" on the left breast and reverse. All letters and numerals are appliquéd in blue felt on orange tackle twill. The circular Mets team patch appears on the left sleeve. The size, year, and uniform number ("44 67 26") are chain-stitched in blue upon a white strip tag in the collar. Located on the left front tail are a "Spalding" label, a "44" size tag, a laundry tag, and an adjacent strip tag that reads "Set 1 1967." The jersey is all original, with no alterations, and displays light wear including a few light stains and a team repair to a small tear on the front. Pitcher Bob Shaw began the 1967 season wearing number "26"; however, he was dealt to the Cubs on July 24th. This jersey was then later issued to pitcher Bill Graham (they were very similar in height and weight), who was called up in September. Graded A7 by MEARS (base grade of 10, with 3 points deducted solely for its having been worn by more than one player). LOA from Dave Bushing & Troy Kinunen/MEARS. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800.
