1960s Johnny Callison Phillies Game-Used Road Jersey
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $3,190.00
Description Addendum: The team name on the front has been restored, which is reflected in the SCD Authentic grade of A3.5.This Johnny Callison Philadelphia Phillies road flannel jersey was game-used by Callison during his heyday in the 1960s. In the neck of the jersey is a strip tag with "Callison" in black chain stitching. Across the front is "Phillies" in red on white lettering and on the reverse is his player number "6." There are no tags (manufacturer, size, etc.) anywhere in the jersey. Callison batted as high as .300, hit as many as 32 HR, twice knocked in over 100 runs, and twice scored over 100. He led the NL with 40 doubles in 1966, and twice hit three homers in a game. In the 1964 All-Star Game, he hit a dramatic homer with two on and two out in the ninth off Dick Radatz to give the NL a 7-4 victory. That year, Callison finished second to Cardinal Ken Boyer in NL MVP balloting. The jersey shows heavy game use and is autographed ("7") in the collar below the strip tag in black ink. SCD Authentic Grade: A3.5. Also included is a Johnny Callison Hillerich & Bradsby signature model D113 bat which is signed ("8/9") on the barrel below the signature stamping. Total 2 items.
