1967 Ernie Banks Chicago Cubs Game-Used and Signed Road Jersey
Starting Bid - $5,000.00, Sold For - $22,040.00
Extraordinary Chicago Cubs road flannel jersey worn by Ernie Banks during the 1967 season. Banks hit twenty-three home runs in 1967, many of them wearing this very uniform, and had ninety-five RBIs. In the neck of the jersey is a grey felt strip tag that reads "14-67 Set 3" in dark blue chain stitching, which denotes the player number, year and set number, respectively. On the left front tail is a "Wilson" manufacturers tag with the size "40." Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Chicago" and on the reverse is the player number "14." Both the letters and numbers are blue on red tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the team's insignia patch. The jersey exhibits Excellent natural wear from use, but has been very well cared for over the years. Banks has neatly signed the jersey in black Sharpie ("9") on the right front tail. This is an ideal Ernie Banks jersey. It is perfect in all respects. One of the finest jerseys in existence from this significant Hall of Famer and "500 Home-Run Club" member. SCD Authentic Grade: A10. LOAs from Dan Knoll & Dave Bushing/SCD Authentic and Mike Gutierrez/GAI and James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000/$15,000. SOLD FOR $22,040.00
