1887 Kalamazoo Bats Boston BBC Team Card
Starting Bid - $2,000.00, Sold For - $4,930.00
Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. The Boston Base Ball Club from the extremely rare 1887 Kalamazoo Bats series of team cards. There are only six team cards in the set, and Boston is one of the high profile keys to the set. The Boston Club was one of the powerhouses of the era, highlighted by Hall of Famers Mike "King" Kelly and "Old Hoss" Radbourn. The contrast on this example is superb. This is an extremely attractive card, with perfect contrast and extraordinary detail, from the elaborate stadium fence background, to the buttons on the uniforms, down to the spikes on the bottom of the players' shoes. The card has no creases, is centered high top to bottom and with lightly rounded corners. Extremely bright and clean, both front and back. This is a exceptionally attractive Kalamazoo Bat team card example and one of the nineteenth century's most striking and popular team cards. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000/$6,000. SOLD FOR $4,930.00
