1930 PR4 Cracker Jack Pins Complete Set (25)

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $928.00

This 25-player pin set was issued in the 1930s and has long been referred to by collectors as "the Cracker Jack pin set," though there is no manufacturer indicated on the pins themselves, and we have never seen any evidence supporting this attribution. Whoever issued it, this is one of the few quality pin sets of the era, and an exceptional value compared to most other 1930s issues. Each pin measures 13/16 inch in diameter and features a line drawing of a player portrait. Printed in blue and gray and yellow, the set is highlighted by Lou Gehrig, Dizzy Dean, and many other Hall of Famers. The surface of these pins chip and wear very easily. This set is comprised of pins far nicer than usually found for this condition-sensitive litho issue. A few pins have some minor surface wear. The set presents in Excellent condition overall. Total 25 pins. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $928.00
