1955 Brooklyn Dodgers World Series Ring (Sample)
Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $4,060.00
This handsome "1955 Brooklyn Dodgers World Champions" ring replicates the rings presented to the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers players following their only World Championship victory when they defeated the New York Yankees. This is a sample ring, not actually presented to a player in 1955, and produced years after 1955 (exact year of production unknown). The finely crafted ring is made of beautiful stainless alloy with the Dodgers emblem appearing on one shank of the ring with the year "1955" etched below. The crest design on the opposite shank details a baseball atop two crossed bats above the famous letter "B" monogram representing the Brooklyn Dodgers. The top face of the ring has an imitation diamond set in a "baseball diamond" shaped setting upon a blue oval background surrounded by "BROOKLYN WORLD CHAMPIONS" etched in block letters. The inside band does not have any stampings or manufacturer markings. The ring size is 10 1/2. Overall Ex-Mt condition. This impressive looking sample ring, commemorating an important year for the Dodgers, offers a relatively affordable alternative to an actual player ring, examples of which have sold at auction for in excess of $50,000. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $4,060.00
