1930s Yankee Boy Tobacco Tins (2)

Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $1,624.00

Offered is a pair of the classic "Yankee Boy" tobacco tins, representing both style variations of this colorful baseball tin, plus a rare original pack of "Yankee Boy" rolling papers. Both tins feature a youngster in a red and white uniform standing at bat on the front. The subtle difference between the two styles is that on one the batter's hair is light and the background fence is brown; on the other the batter's hair is dark and the background fence is green. The rectangular tins each have a red and white checkerboard design covering the rounded edges and reverse. The tins have some very minor pinpoint rust spots, which is pretty standard for this tin; one has a couple of small surface chips which are not particularly prominent; both are in overall Very Good to Excellent condition. Dimensions: 4 x 3.5 x 1.25 inches. Accompanied by an original pack of "Yankee Boy" rolling papers (3.2 x 1.75 inches), which is also very scarce, and ideal for display with the tins. Total 3 items. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $1,624.00
