1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition Baseball Inkwell

Starting Bid - $100.00, Sold For - $464.00

Gold-colored figural inkwell in the shape of a baseball reads "Panama-Pacific International Exposition San Francisco Cal. 1915" in relief on top, and the hinged lid opens to reveal a glass ink cup. The ball is designed with stitches, and sits on a square base (4.25 x 4.25 inches) which has four baseball bases, one in each corner. The underside of the base reads "Pat'd Sept. 2nd 1913." This is a very rare and unusual baseball figural inkwell from one of the most highly celebrated expositions of the early twentieth century, and the only example we have ever seen. Excellent condition. Reserve $100. Estimate $200/$400. SOLD FOR $464.00
