Music has always played a role in baseball's rich history. From the National Pastime's earliest days, songs have been written to celebrate teams, the game, championships, and the great players who won them. This collection of sheet music spans the years 1907 to 1949 and includes songs composed for great stars and teams. Many have colorful images of their subjects adorning the front covers. 1) 1907 The White Sox March (dedicated to Charles Comiskey and pictures a team composite photo of the 1906 World's Champions Chicago White Sox on the cover). This is the prize of the lot, and one of the best baseball sheet musics of the era. In outstanding Excellent condition. 2) 1908 Take Me Out To The Ball Game by Jack Norworth. Vg due to corner bite in lower left. 3) 1910 Little Puff Of Smoke, Good Night (with "Doc" White on cover). Ex. 4) 1912 The Grand Old Game Of Base Ball by Lawrence B. O'Connor. Very attractive generic baseball design on cover. Ex.5) 1912 Those Ragtime Melodies (with Rube Marquard on cover). Vg-Ex. 6) 1912 Remember Me To My Old Gal by George Moriarity (with Bender, Coombs, and Morgan on cover). Gd. 7) 1928 Babe Ruth! Babe Ruth! (We Know What He Can Do) by J.W. Spencer. Artwork of Ruth batting on cover, accompanied by one-inch litho pinback advertising the sheet music; both pin and sheet music are Nr/Mt. 8) 1945 Why Do They All Pick On Brooklyn? (with portrait of Durocher and a Dodgers team photo on cover). Nr/Mt. 9) 1949 The Brooklyn Dodgers Jump (with Furillo, Palica, and Branca on cover, and signed by Branca). Ex.
