1960 Leaf Autographed Set (107 of 145)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,392.00

1960 Leaf near-complete set comprised of 107 of the 145 cards in the set, all autographed. It is interesting to note that our consignor has always considered this unusual set to be the single greatest challenge of all the sets he pursued to collect in signed form. Though 1960 Leaf has very few stars, it is loaded with very obscure players and even includes some players who were minor leaguers and who never actually ever played a single game in the major leagues. The extremely unusual composition of players in the set makes 1960 Leaf, card for card, one of the most difficult of all sets to collect and complete in autographed form. The missing 37 numbers for completion are as follows: #12, 14, 17, 18, 33, 42, 54, 61, 66, 72, 73, 76, 78, 80, 81, 82, 84, 86, 88, 91, 93, 95, 97, 98, 99, 100, 106, 111, 112, 113, 114, 120, 121, 122, 136, 137, and 141. All 107 cards have been signed and the signatures range in grade from "8" to "10," averaging "9" overall, on a scale of "1 to 10." 31% are signed in ballpoint pen and 69% in Sharpie marker or felt-tip pen. Keys: #1 Aparicio (Ex), 25a Grant/white cap (Vg), 25b Grant/dark cap (Vg), 27 Robinson (Ex), 37 Snider (Vg), 69 Wilhelm (Vg-Ex), 125 Anderson (Ex), 128 Cepeda (Ex), 144 Bunning (Vg). The balance of the cards grade Ex overall (a few slightly lesser, a few slightly better). Total 107 cards. LOAs from Mike Gutierrez/GAI and James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $1,392.00
