1949 St. Louis Cardinals Team-Signed Baseball
Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $812.00
Official American League (Frick) baseball is signed by an amazing 34 members of the 1949 St. Louis Cardinals including Hall of Famers Stan Musial, Enos Slaughter, and Red Schoendienst. The other signatures are manager Eddie Dyer; Marion (sweet spot), D. Rice, Jones, Kazak, Diering, Northey, Glaviano, Nelson, Garagiola, Klein, Rice, Hemus, Baker, Kurowski, Wilber, Brazle, Pollet, Brecheen, Munger, Staley, Lanier, Wilks, Martin, Reeder, Moore, Kaufman, Dr. H.J. Weaver, Dr. E.H. Sutton, Wares, and one other we could not identify. All are boldly signed in blue ballpoint pen and grade a "9" overall. The notation "1948 St. Louis" is added below Marion's signature on the sweet spot. (It is possible the "1948" notation is correct, and that the several signatures we have used to define this as a 1949 team ball were from players who were at Spring Training in 1948, and the ball was signed at that time). The ball is in Excellent to Mint condition. LOAs from Mike Gutierrez/GAI and James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $812.00
