Circa 1930 Lou Gehrig Autographed Baseball
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $1,160.00
Circa 1930 Lively Bounder Tober brand baseball features the signature of Lou Gehrig on a side panel in black ink. The Gehrig signature on this heavily toned unofficial "Tober" ball is legible but has faded over time, grading a "2" or a "3". We have not described this ball as a single-signed ball because upon extremely close inspection there is evidence not only of Babe Ruth's signature on the sweet spot but also of additional signatures which were once on the ball that have faded or been removed. The Ruth signature is extremely light and hardly legible but is present. The ball displays nicely as a single-signed Gehrig and represents a rarely offered affordable alternative to a single-signed Lou Gehrig ball. LOAs from Mike Gutierrez/GAI and James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $1,160.00
