1934 Goudey #48 Tex Carleton PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $6,380.00

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. One of just five examples graded at this level with only one graded higher. The PSA population report suggests that this card is an extraordinary condition rarity. With only five examples ever graded NM-MT 8, this card has the lowest number of cards graded NM-MT 8 by PSA of all 1934 Goudey cards. Tex Carleton played eight seasons in the Major Leagues for three different teams. In seven seasons he won ten or more games and he appeared in three "Fall Classics," including the 1934 World Series with the Cardinals. This extraordinary high-grade example exhibits four sharp corners, deep, bold colors and perfect clarity. The centering is slightly to the top and right. The reverse is flawless with distinct, bold green printing. We have found that the auction selling prices of cards from extremely popular sets with very low populations in the highest grades often sell for far more than SMR, and this is especially the case with classic vintage sets such as 1934 Goudey. Solid Nr/Mt-Mt card with an extremely low population. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $6,380.00
