1919 T213 Coupon Cigarette (Type 3) Hall of Famers (3)
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $5,800.00
Collection of three Hall of Famer T213 (Type 3) Coupon Cigarette cards: 1) Ty Cobb (batting), Detroit. Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. Very attractive example which appears solid Ex. This card was most likely downgraded due to its 25/75 side to side centering. No creases, with just a hint of corner wear. 2) John McGraw, New York Nat. Graded EX 5 by PSA. Very sharp-looking card. 80/20 centering. 3) Eddie Collins, Chicago, Amer. Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. Slight vertical miscut. T213 (Type 3) is a very interesting issue. Similar in design and borrowing the same images as T206, T213 (Type 3) is believed to have been issued exclusively in the Louisiana area, and was the very last of the traditional tobacco card sets. The set was issued in 1919. T213 (Type 3) Coupons are far rarer than their T206 counterparts, and one of tobacco card collecting's most overlooked issues. The Ty Cobb in this lot is a particularly impressive highlight. Total 3 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $5,800.00
