Nineteenth-Century Card Collection (9 cards)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,740.00

Collection of nine cards from five different classic nineteenth-century issues including two Hall of Famers. 1) 1888 Old Judge Advertising Display "Die-Cuts" (2): Tim Keefe (HOF) and Dan Brouthers (HOF). These are technically not cards, as they are cut from the Old Judge advertising poster, but are very attractive and substantial. Both are clean with no creases. 2) 1888 N135 Duke "Talk of the Diamond": "A Foul Catch" (Vg) and "A Low Ball" (touch of paper loss on the reverse, otherwise Vg-Ex). 3) 1889 N43 Allen & Ginter: Chas Getzin (Vg-Ex/Ex). 4) 1895 N300 Mayo's Cut Plug: Jimmy Bannon (SGC VG 40), Brickyard Kennedy (PSA Good 2), and James Ryan (pencil-thin top border, otherwise Vg-Ex). 5) Circa 1888 Duke Trade Card: "Off His Base" (Vg). Interesting collection of nineteenth-century baseball cards. Total 9 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,740.00
