Presented is one of Sanjulian's greatest masterpieces, and one of Warren Publishing's most famous and most often reproduced works. First published as the cover to Eerie #40 in June of 1972, "The Grave Robbers" is one of those Warren paintings that represents the entire genre of vintage horror fantasy art, and qualifies as one of the few paintings comprising "The Soul of Warren Publishing." It is instantly recognizable, in large part because it has been reproduced so many times in books, magazines, trading cards, and on many Warren Publications products such as posters, puzzles, even T-shirts. This is one of the legendary icons of Warren cover art, and one of the few paintings which is universally recognized as representing the entire horror genre. This work has never before been offered.
