1955 Topps Rip Repulski Bill Forsyth Baseball Card Painting

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,392.00

Acrylic on canvas. Signed in white in lower right border "Forsyth '72." This is one of the earliest of the baseball card paintings series. "The name, the face (which I made to look a bit hung over), and team emblem made this a must. It must have been the commonest '55 card - I had about 20 Repulskis, which couldn't be given away. I like the fade-away background color." - Bill Forsyth, 1979. 21 x 30 inches. Mounted on wood frame backing to total dimensions of 25 x 34.5 inches. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,392.00
