1971-1979 Willie McCovey Signed Pro Model Bat

Adirondack model 155X is signed and inscribed to the left of the barrel stampings "To Joe, Best Wishes Willie McCovey" in black Sharpie. The signature and inscription grade an "8" overall. The bat exhibits considerable game use including ball and stitch marks with deadwood below the labels. The uncracked handle has a light coat of pine tar and McCovey's player number "44" is written on the knob end in black marker. McCovey played in four decades, from 1959 to 1980, amassing 2,211 hits, 521 home runs and 1,555 RBIs. He was named the Rookie of the Year in 1959, and ten years later he was voted the National League MVP. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1986. Length: 35.75 inches. Weight: 35 ounces.
