Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $2,900.00
Hank Aaron Hillerich & Bradsby model A99 game-used bat dates from 1973-1975. In 1974, Hank Aaron did the unthinkable; he smashed a ball off Dodger pitcher Al Downing to break the immortal Babe Ruth's home-run record. In addition to holding the most cherished record by an everyday player, "Hammerin' Hank" set the all-time records for RBIs with 2,297 and total bases with 6,856. The bat is uncracked and shows evidence of light game use. Aaron's player number "44" is written on both the knob and barrel end in black marker in the correct "open four" style that is common to authentic Aaron gamers. The barrel has been signed by Aaron in blue Sharpie and the signature grades an "8." An ideal Hank Aaron bat dating from the most celebrated years of his Hall of Fame career. Length: 35 inches. Weight: 33.5 ounces. SCD Authentic Grade: A7. LOAs from Dave Bushing/SCD Authentic, Mike Gutierrez/GAI and James Spence, Steve Grad, John Taube & Vince Malta/PSA DNA. Reserve $1,000.
