1973-1975 Rod Carew Pro Model Bat

Signature model R161 exhibits heavy game use including ball stitch and bat rack marks along the barrel. The cracked handle (approx. 12 inches) has a light coat of pine tar and has white tape in a spiral pattern covering the crack. There is a piece of wood (approx. 3 inches) missing from the bat located to the left of the center brand. Carew's player number "29" is written on the knob end in black marker. Carew amassed 3,053 hits during his nineteen seasons in the Major Leagues. His seven batting titles are surpassed only by Ty Cobb, Tony Gwynn and Honus Wagner, and equaled only by Rogers Hornsby and Stan Musial. He hit over .300 in fifteen consecutive seasons with the Twins and Angels, achieving a .328 lifetime average. Carew was honored as American League Rookie of the Year in 1967, won the league MVP ten years later, and was named to eighteen straight All-Star teams. Length: 34 inches. Weight: 32 ounces.
