1951 Gene Woodling NY Yankees World Series Pro Model Bat
Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $812.00
Gene Woodling played the majority of his career with the New York Yankees, including the 1949-1953 string of five consecutive World Championship seasons. This 1951 World Series Gene Woodling H&B signature model M110 bat shows heavy game use, with evidence of ball, stitch, cleat, and bat rack marks visible on the barrel. World Series bats are highly sought after by collectors, because they are made specifically for use in the World Series, and can be dated to a very specific year. Only two World Series bats are made for each player. H&B shipping records indicate that two of these bats were sent to Woodling on 9/28/51. The handle is uncracked. There is a 1-1/4 inch chip missing from the top of the barrel, which is mentioned for the sake of accuracy and is not visible when displayed. Length: 35 inches. Weight: 32 ounces. SCD Authentic Grade: A9. LOA from Dave Bushing/SCD Authentic and John Taube & Vince Malta/PSA DNA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $812.00
