1950-1960 Jackie Jensen Pro Model Bat

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $1,044.00

Jackie Jensen Hillerich & Bradsby signature model R43 exhibits moderate game use including ball and cleat marks. H&B's factory ordering records indicate that six of these bats were sent to Jensen at the beginning of the 1951 season. The model number is stamped on the knob end. There are two one-inch depressions, located at the top left and bottom left of the barrel stampings. The blond "Golden Boy," a product of the Yankee farm system of the 1940s, was heralded as DiMaggio's heir as a rookie in 1950. But he hit only .171 in 45 games, and Mickey Mantle soon assumed that role. Jensen, freed from the pressures of following in the footsteps of a legend, enjoyed a solid, if less productive than predicted, career with the Boston Red Sox. Ted Williams called his right-field partner the best outfielder he ever saw. Length: 35 inches. Weight: 35.5 ounces. SCD Authentic Grade: A5. LOAs from Dave Bushing/SCD Authentic and John Taube & Vince Malta/PSA DNA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $1,044.00
