Famed Artist Lewis Watkins Single-Signed Baseball Collection (85)

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $5,750.00

Lewis Watkins is one of the sporting world's most famous and recognized artists. His work is in the permanent collections of many museums, and he is listed in publications such as Who's Who in American Art. Watkins was also one of the founders of the "Ted Williams Museum" and the "Hitters Hall of Fame" located in Florida. In the natural course of his meeting with subjects over the past 20 years, Watkins always made it a point to have each ballplayer sign a baseball for him as a keepsake. Offered is Lewis Watkins' personal collection of single-signed baseballs. Each was obtained by him in person, when meeting with the stars which he has captured on canvas and sculpture over the years. This collection is comprised of 82 HOFers and three additional stars. The 85 Official National League and Official American League baseballs are almost all bright, clean, and white (a few are slightly toned) and all are single-signed on the sweet spot, with all signatures strong, ranging from "8" to "10." Includes: T. Williams, Mantle, DiMaggio, Grimes, Bell, Terry, Gomez, Hubbell, Day, Dickey, Lopez, Drysdale, Reese, Durocher, Gehringer, Sewell, Chandler, Conlon, Herman, Mays, Aaron, Stargell, Schmidt, Ryan, Appling, Dandridge, Lemon, Mize, Hunter, Yaz, Seaver, Jackson, Ferrell, Yount, Murray, Musial, Berra, Wynn, Irvin, Brett, Gwynn, Leonard, Banks, Mathews, F.
