1910 Charles Conlon World Series Photograph

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $1,840.00

Very unusual multiplayer original Charles Conlon photograph of Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Athletics players meeting on the field just prior to the first game of the 1910 World Series. The six players in the photograph (from left to right) are Frank Chance, Eddie Plank, Mordecai Brown, Harry Davis, Jimmy Sheckard, and Jimmy Archer. Chance seems to be looking right at the camera and probably had just noticed Conlin lurking about. A striking image of these Hall of Famers and stars having a few laughs before the start of the "Fall Classic." The Athletics would go on to crush the Cubs and win the series 4 games to 1. The image area of the photograph measures 5.75 x 3.75 inches. The photo has flawless contrast and is beautifully matted and framed to total dimensions of 10.25 x 9 inches. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $1,840.00
