Original photograph (4.25 x 7.5 inch) of the 1928 Homestead Grays features the club in a traditional team pose, and represents the very beginning of one of the Negro League's greatest dynasties. Included in the photo is Owner/Manager Cum Posey (third from left), future Hall of Famer John Beckwith (fourth from left), and Hall of Famer "Smokey Joe" Williams in the center. Photo from the archives of the Baltimore Afro-American. Outstanding clarity and contrast. The photo has a minor die-cutting along the right border, related to its use for publication, and some paper attached to the reverse (related to production use or perhaps from long ago being mounted in a scrapbook), otherwise in Excellent condition.
